Costume Contest Rules

Eligibility

Entries are not limited to the Harry Potter universe, however your costumes must be related to a source work considered Young Adult Literature.

Costumes not related to Young Adult Literature are not eligible for entry or awards.

Costumes comprised partly of commercially available parts will be judged based only on the non-commercial parts.

Judging

Judging takes place in the Young Adult Track room in the atrium level of the Marriott, room 707 from 6:00PM - 7:30PM, Sunday. Come dressed to impress. Walk-up entries will not be accepted at the Yule Ball this year due to time constraints.

Winners will be announced at the Yule Ball immediately following the judging. The Yule Ball will be held in the Sheraton Ballroom beginning at 8:30.

Entry forms will be available in the YA Lit track room beginning on Friday.

Awards

Awards (certificates and prizes) MAY BE given in the following categories (pending available entries) :

1. Best in Show
2. Best Movie Recreation
3. Best Literary Visualization (from text descriptions)
4. Best of Harry Potter's World
5. Best non-Potter
6. Excellence in Workmanship
7. Judge's Choice
8. Best in Show

"Honorable Mention" certificates may also be awarded Special awards given to all entrants under 12 years of age.
